Joe Biden just chose Mandy Cohen to be his new CDC Director and she won’t require the typical Senate approval.
She was formerly North Carolina’s health director for Democrat Governor Roy Cooper:
Meet Mandy Cohen — Biden's next CDC Director.
Here she is LAUGHING about how she and other “experts” came up with COVID restrictions during her time as North Carolina Health Director:
“She was like, ‘are you gonna let them have professional football?’ And I was like, ‘nope!'… pic.twitter.com/UmNefob9AE

The photo I used above is absolutely real She posted it herself as she pushed face coverings in August of 2020:
Did you know it’s #WorldMaskWeek? Face coverings are one of our strongest tools to slow the spread of #COVID19 in our communities… and like my Dr. Fauci mask, they can be fun too! Join me in masking up this week & beyond – every time you leave the house. pic.twitter.com/CCTf7Ngj5e

As I said, she won’t need Senate confirmation:
Cohen may be the last CDC director to be appointed without Senate confirmation (Congressional approval for a CDC director will be required starting January 2025, per requirements in the FY 2023 omnibus bill).
I remind you that this is the omnibus bill that McConnell championed in the Senate last year with Democrats, taking away the will of the voters last November to negotiate a new 2023 budget with the new Republican Congress. So if you don’t like Mandy Cohen, blame him.
