In an attempt to be sympathetic today, Joe Biden gave condolences to the CEO of Joann stores for the sudden passing of the company’s CFO, Matt Susz.

Here’s how that went:

Biden could barely get the acronym ‘CFO’ out and then when he finally was able to say it, he followed it by saying Susz “dropped dead” today:

And by the way, my sympathies to your, the family of your, uhhuhhuhh, your CFO, who dropped dead very unexpectedly.

Such finesse. Geez. This guy is nothing but an embarrassment.

In related news, Biden joked that he can hardly remember the days when he was a Senator:

Probably the most honest thing he’s said since he became president*.
