James Carville said today that he is not impressed with the Democratic field right now and what they are talking about, and it’s evident from the lower turnout that they aren’t reaching everyday Americans:
Carville says bluntly:
This party needs to wake up and make sure that we talk about things are relevant to people. … We don’t need to become the British Labor Party. That’s a bad thing. It’s not going well over there.
Carville elaborates on what he means by the “British Labor Party”, noting that Democrats are talking about open borders and people voting from jail cells:
His point is that they aren’t connecting with everyday Americans and he’s not wrong. But the problem is bigger than just what they are talking about. It’s who they’ve become as radical socialists and how they want to pay for expensive new socialist entitlement programs out of the the wallet of the everyday struggling American. How they want open borders and have been trying to destroy the sitting president simply because they don’t like him. They aren’t reaching people because they’ve gone so far Left of the American people that they are speaking another language. And thankfully, the American people don’t yet speak radical socialist.
On the flip side you’ve got Trump touting a great economy, great unemployment numbers, a great stock market, great trade deals, etc. Why on earth would people want to trade him in, someone who is fighting for the everyday American, for the radical socialist alternative? It does not compute.
