Three new Republican Senators have come out against the objections that will be made by Hawley, Cruz, and 11 others during tomorrow’s election certification:
TIM SCOTT:
GOP Sen Tim Scott: "As I read the Constitution, there is no constitutionally viable means for the Congress to overturn an election wherein the states have certified and sent their Electors.”

JIM INHOFE:
GOP Sen Jim Inhofe: “To challenge a state’s certification, given how specific the Constitution is, would be a violation of my oath of office—that is not something I am willing to do.”

JERRY MORAN:
GOP Sen Jerry Moran: “I am a conservative Republican. Therefore, I must strictly adhere to the United States Constitution…. To vote to reject these state-certified electoral votes would be to act outside the bounds of the Constitution, which I will not do.”

And of course, then you’ve got people like Bob Corker:
I am saddened that some senators plan to undermine our democratic process that gives the American people, not politicians, the right to elect our president.

And in case you haven’t seen it yet, Lindsey Graham came out over the weekend saying he’d consider the objections, but doesn’t think it will amount to anything:
I do look forward to hearing from and will listen closely to the objections of my colleagues in challenging the results of this election.
They will need to provide proof of the charges they are making.
— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) January 3, 2021
They will also need to provide clear and convincing evidence that the failure to act – in both the state and federal courts and the states legislatures which investigated these claims – was made in error.

My colleagues will have the opportunity to make this case, and I will listen closely. But they have a high bar to clear.
