Tim Scott asked about Trump ‘white supremacist’ debate response, his answer made EVERYONE even MORE angry

President Trump’s reply to the Chris Wallace/Joe Biden dynamic duo’s “guess the number I’m thinking of and then denounce it” challenge about “white supremacist” groups has been the number one social media whipping horse for the left/media all day.

The line is that Trump “refuses” to “denounce” the white supremacy that he’s previously denounced many, many, many times, because when Walliden asked him last night if he would denounce it, and he said yes, they then said “Proud Boys” and he cryptically said “Stand back and stand by.”

It’s a whole thing. And so they asked Tim Scott about it of course because he is black and that’s how the left thinks. Watch.

“I think he misspoke in response to Chris Wallace’s comment. He was asking Chris what he wanted to say. I think he misspoke. I think he should correct it. If he doesn’t correct it, I guess he didn’t misspeak.”

I don’t know y’all I thought that was a fine political answer. He didn’t bash, he didn’t make it about himself, he didn’t speak FOR Trump. Pretty careful for an on-the-spot question unrelated to what they were there for.

But on social media the reaction was totally not that.

On the right, he’s being bashed over it for saying Trump should correct it. On the left, he’s being bashed for saying it was just a matter of misspeaking. As you can expect, the ones on the left were much worse and nastier and more racist.

For the record, here’s the part that’s in question.

I don’t know exactly what Trump was saying here. Seems like it would have been a lot easier to say “yes I denounce the Proud Boys.” Still, he seemed willing to play the denounce game, which is more than it deserves most times.

Trump has repeatedly asked for Biden to condemn Antifa, as Chris Wallace says.

Course it woulda been real nice if Wallace had asked for Biden to do that, don’t ya think? I mean there it was, right there in the moment. He said “you’ve asked Biden to denounce” and then he and Biden both pushed Trump on Proud Boys. All Wallace had to so say next was “now Mr. Vice President, will you likewise denounce Antifa by name?” Or at least have called BS on that little “antifa is an idea” speech.

After all, Biden and friends demand Trump denounce white supremacists every 12 minutes, in order to keep tying him to the words “white supremacist” in searches and headlines.

UPDATE: Trump just answered a question on this subject as he headed to Marine One.

“They have to stand down and let law enforcement do their work,” he said, expanding on his comment from the debate stage.
