Tom Cotton really let AG Merrick Garland have it this morning over his directive that the FBI should involve themselves in school board meetings.

Since Garland claims his directive was based on the letter from the NSBA and “news reports”, Cotton specifically cited the news report about Scott Smith and how he was labeled a domestic terrorist. When Garland objected to Cotton citing that news report, Cotton reminded him that it was the most prominent news report seen in America at that time.
Cotton the said emphatically:
“That refers to Scott Smith, whose 15-yr-old daughter was raped! She was raped in a bathroom by a boy wearing girls clothes. And the Loudoun County school board covered it up, because it would have interfered with their transgender policy during pride month. And that man, Scott Smith, because he went to a school board and tried to defend his daughter’s rights, was condemned internationally. Do you apologize to Scott Smith and his 15-yr-old daughter judge?”
Garland responded by dissembling about how Scott had a first amendment right to protest to the school board about it, but Cotton interrupted and blasted him:
But he was cited by the school board association as a domestic terrorist and we now know that letter and those reports were the basis for your directive. This is shameful. Judge this is shameful. This testimony, your directive, your performance is shameful.
Thank God you are not on the Supreme Court. You should resign in disgrace judge.
BOOM! That was fantastic.
Someone created this hilarious image because of the exchange:
