Here we go again. Nearly every time I see Tom Cotton trending I expect that it’s gonna be some kind of exaggeration by the left that will go away once I look into it myself. Here’s today’s edition:
"If Chinese students want to come here and study Shakespeare & the Federalist Papers, that's what they need to learn from America. They don't need to learn quantum computing" — Sen. Tom Cotton proposes restricting Chinese students from studying science & tech at US universities pic.twitter.com/Sn6f6MMwtW

He’s talking about restriction the student visas we give to Chinese students from abroad. OK. I’m alright with that, and to be honest there’s a ton of much more important restrictions we need to seek in order to keep the totalitarian dictatorship of China to use our culture of freedom against us.
Predictably, the left is absolutely losing it over a pretty sensible recommendation:
China is pulling ahead of the US on some technologies bc people like Tom Cotton cut funding for research and innovation and make it harder for the best and brightest to come here. https://t.co/m5EFzy3M2N

Er.. OK? Maybe? Even if that were the case, it would have ZERO bearing on whether we should restrict travel visas to Chinese students. Moron.
Is it overt racism sprinkled with general cruelty, or the other way around?https://t.co/mYPemEKmDC

How is this overt racism? If they were banning all students of Asian ancestry, I could see it. This is absurd.
The way racist GOP Senators like Tom Cotton wage war against science and technology, it may not be Chinese students coming to the United States to study quantum computing and artificial intelligence. Soon it may be the other way around, which would be a disaster for our country.

Huh? What the heck is he talking about?!
Tom Cotton: Ban Chinese from learning science.
This is the definition of racism. There is no defense..

No it’s not, you idiot.
Harvard grad and GOP Senator Tom Cotton, aside from being a xenophobic demagogue, seems to think Shakespeare was an American. https://t.co/TE5vXqdLrV

This drives me insane most of all. Nothing Cotton said would make one believe what this doofus is pitching, but his equally troglodytic followers retweet like mindless zombies because they think it’s some kind of gotcha or something. Pathetically stupid. But it works.
If anything, Cotton’s recommendation is too light here. And I really hope that at least SOME patriotic Democrats are bright enough to know that they need to join with Republicans in order to combat Chinese influence and interference… I know, I’m much too optimistic.
