Top House Democrat INSULTS Jews in order to defend Ilhan Omar

One Democrat today bent over so far backward to defend Ilhan Omar from the accusation of anti-Semitism that he insulted Jews whose family members were in the Holocaust.

THE HILL – Clyburn came to Omar’s defense Wednesday, lamenting that many of the media reports surrounding the recent controversy have omitted mentioning that Omar, who was born in Somalia, had to flee the country to escape violence and spent four years in a Kenyan refugee camp before coming to the United States.

Her experience, Clyburn argued, is much more empirical — and powerful — than that of people who are generations removed from the Holocaust, Japanese internment camps during World War II and the other violent episodes that have marked history.

“I’m serious about that. There are people who tell me, ‘Well, my parents are Holocaust survivors.’ ‘My parents did this.’ It’s more personal with her,” Clyburn said. “I’ve talked to her, and I can tell you she is living through a lot of pain.”

What has that got to do with anything?

The point isn’t that Omar suffered in her life, but rather that she keeps spewing anti-Semitism. Having to flee violence in Somalia and spending time in a refugee camp has nothing to do with the fact that she’s an anti-Semite.

But instead of sticking to the point, Clyburn has to insult millions of Jews whose parents died in the Holocaust by suggesting that Omar’s struggles are more meaningful than theirs. How ridiculous.

Why can’t the Democrat Party just call out anti-Semitism in its own ranks like it should? Because there’s more anti-Semitism in their party than they are willing to admit and if they took it on, it’d destroy the party.

Nikki Haley called out Clyburn for his remarks a short while ago:

By the way, the cowardly House Democrats passed their watered down, meaningless resolution today against ‘all hate’ by 407-23 votes. Just thought you’d want to know.
