Trey Gowdy says there is GAME-CHANGING evidence yet to be revealed from FISA probe!

El Trey Gowdy, former congressman and current Fox News contributor, dropped a bomb on Fox News, even if it’s slightly vague.

He said that there is exculpatory evidence yet to be revealed to the public that would exonerate el Trumpo.

Watch below at about the 1:10 minute mark [it is cued up for you safety and comfort]:

Hmmmm… interesting. I’ve heard a lot of innuendo and a lot of accusations, but this is the first of a concrete claim of exculpatory evidence from someone who would know. That is the kind of evidence that would be revealed IF they made public the founding documents that led to the FISA court approval of surveillance. And Gowdy says, that unlike everything else that has come out, it would lead to people genuinely changing their minds about who is guilty about what. We can only hope someday that will happen. Again – if it exists, why hasn’t Trump de-classified it and released it?

And that’s it for Sunday. Once again, we hope you had a great weekend. Let’s cap it off with an open thread.

  1. None of it matters. This is a full blown propaganda war. The cold war never ended it just came home.

Get used to the fact that the media and Democrats are going to double, triple and quadruple down. They will NOT change their tune in response to evidence unless enough journalists and media consumers push back against the narrative, which I don’t believe will happen.

In the absence of taking over the media like conservatives should have DECADES ago we’ll just have to be more aggressive in finding alternative ways to get the word out to the ignorant boobs who will otherwise vote Democrat and potentially return the rotten DC cabal to power. They’ve already crossed the Rubicon and if they get back in power our nation will be in serious trouble.

  2. Did anyone catch the Buttigieg townhall on Fox tonight, hosted by Chris Wallace? I saw most but not all of it. I came away with the impression that Mayor Pete, unlike most of the rest of the clown car, is someone not to be underestimated. Of course he is as Leftie as the rest of them, but he is smart, he presents very well, and he knows how to handle an audience and questions (although Wallace didn’t press him very hard). He didn’t come across as some wild radical – although he is one but he will fool a lot of ordinary liberals into thinking he’s a reasonable moderate Democrat. He will be tough to take down.

    1. He may earn a VP pick for whom every wins the Democrat primary, but I don’t think America would elect a gay male as POTUS at this time. In another 10-15 years who knows?

    2. Yeah, I think his numbers may get a big bump after this and likely more bumps as soon as they see him on the debate stage. You can’t deny that he’s got an impressive resume for his age and the new flavor of the month is what seems to win among Democrats (other than Biden????? lol maybe not). It’s very likely, however, that he won’t do as well among blacks, which could prevent him from getting the nomination at all.

    3. Kind of reminded me of Hillary receiving the questions prior to her debate.Unless you feel Wallace would have too much to lose with a stunt like that.

      1. Well, I just think Buttigieg was very well prepared, and Wallace didn’t ask him any out of the ordinary questions. For example, there was a time when a candidate was asked “what was your biggest mistake?” was a gotcha question that tripped some people up. But Buttigieg was so ready for it, he even said he wrote about it in his book.

        1. Thanks NC, if he wrote a book I am sure that was a starting point for the Wallace questions.Whom ever the Democrats choose,I just don’t see Trump losing

  3. Forgive me my skepticism, but congress critters, both GOP and Democrat, former and current, have been talking about bombshell evidence, lo these many years.

  4. Since Trey has already seen the paperwork he’s referring to I think he can be trusted to know what he’s talking about.

  5. Trey is part of the reason we lost the house he retires and then has the nerve to go on Fox and give his useless 2 cents !!

    !!

  6. Now that trump has in most sane peoples minds been exonerated, just does not appear to be interested in releasing any documents and leaving that up to the AG

  7. Its adorable that Gowdy actually thinks partisans will change their mind after seeing any evidence.

    1. Yeah, but I think that there are some in the middle who are feeling a bit betrayed by the Russian collusion narrative that they were sold. Some of them are going to get really angry at that betrayal when all the evidence comes out.

Sooper Mexican is a good example. My impression has been that he was tacitly on the Russian collusion train for some time, but I think that he’s coming around.

  8. Plenty of rich people in heaven — Abraham, David, Joseph of Arimathea, etc.

Doesn’t matter how much money you do or don’t have — heaven is a gift that Jesus earned for all, and God gives it as a free gift regardless of our merit. Only those who reject Jesus lose out.

    1. The key is that as a Christ follower, all that you own and all that you are no longer belongs to you. It all belongs to Christ to use as he sees fit. You may keep your assets for a time, but as a caretaker or steward for the true owner. The difficulty for some (most?) rich is that they don’t want Christ as their ruler and as true owner of all their possessions.
The key discourse is Jesus’ discussion with the young rich man in Matthew 19:16-24. The young man had followed all the commandments Jesus said he should follow his entire life, and was undoubtedly a good man. However, he balked when Jesus told him to sell all he had and give it to the poor and to follow Him. We must all be prepared to do what Christ tells us to do with our possessions, because they become His possessions when we become Christ followers.

  9. Trump needs to declassify everything related to the hoax… why do you believe Mueller is not willing to testify?

Trump will likely declassify the FISA documents when the anti-Trumpers least expect it… I believe many reputations will be damaged for life; especially John McCain’s.

    1. I think he was a little too dismissive of being able to get happiness from a regular job, but mostly yeah.

      1. Hey Soop. I see you are still hoping against hope that the collusion and obstruction hoax gets Trump. I think the Bulwark is hiring. It would probably be a better fit.

        1. So posting objective articles makes him. TDSer? Must suck to have such a parochial view of… well probably everything.

      2. I think he was going over the top to make the point. I left home after the war with a college degree, no job opportunities, and a one month visa to Russia to try to figure it all out. I ended up staying two years and came home with a top job.
Now I’m married 20+ years, locked into a bad marriage, make “1%-er money” but am nothing but resentful and trapped into obligations and commitments I can barely believe I find myself in.
I agree with it all. I blame nobody but myself.

  10. The only thing more conspicuous than SNL’s hatred of all things not leftist is the embarrassing absence of humor.

  11. If anyone hasn’t noticed for these past two and a half years, President Trump likes to give people rope and in the end, he drops the hammer… he’ll likely wait for the IG report to come out; along with the AG Barr, US Attorney Huber, and US Attorney Durham’s investigations. If nothing happens or if the media spins it, Trump will declassify and all hell will break loose.

  12. FYI. My daughter graduated yesterday and Peggy Noonan was the Commencement speaker. Very good and humorous first 15 min then she spoke about conservatism which was good although Fr Jenkins was probably sweating and needed to change his collar. In any event, Noonan’s speech wasn’t hard core so Valium wasn’t needed for half the audience.

    1. @kab Congratulations to you and your daughter and your family! I would have loved to hear Noonan speak. When she’s good she’s great but she goes off the rails too easily…

      1. Thank you. Her first 15 min had most everyone laughing. My husband and I were grateful it wasn’t a Biden.

  13. I admit I dislike Robert DeNiro and Alec Baldwin so much that they can’t make me laugh. I don’t see humor. I see hate trying to be presented as humor. But, that’s me.

    1. They sang a Queen song and changed the lyrics to be the incessant and irrational drumbeat mantra of the Democrats.

Nothing clever or funny about it unless you just hate Trump and enjoy hearing the same repeated refrain from the Left.

      1. @ttt Was it a Queen song that I’m not familiar with, or one butchered beyond recognition?

          1. A good song.
I have to admit, for once I decided to disregard the stupid Leftist lyrics and enjoyed it, not greatly, but I did enjoy it. I almost didn’t watch it, because nowadays SNL stuff just makes me cringe.

            1. I prefer the original Queen rendition. 🙂

As far as the SNL lyrics, they remind me of the people here who can’t resist making the same comments every time they see a particular type of story. If someone from the Trump administration makes a mistake or does something improper, they post “But he hires only the BEST people”. If the story is about prosecution of the Clintons (or lack thereof) in any way, it’s “But she’s suffered enough.” Ha hah, yeah, that stuff was amusing a couple of years ago. Now it’s less funny than nerds who are constantly quoting Monty Python Holy Grail jokes.

They’re like a bunch of Roger Rabbits, unable to resist the Shave and a Haircut knock.

              1. True. Every time they used one of the worn out lines I just rolled my eyes.
Of course I guess I must be one of those Monty Python quoting nerds you talk about. My sons and I do it all the time. It’s usually followed with a conversation of how stupid the movie was, and we can’t believe we find quoting the movie amusing. We bought the only copy of the movie available in the NEX while stationed in Italy, not sure why, but when our neighbors found out many asked to borrow it, whoda thunk.

                1. I must be one of those Monty Python quoting nerds you talk about

Hah! I said “less funny” but I didn’t say how much less funny. Lots less funny. 🙂

Actually my daughter’s boyfriend got her to watch THG not long ago and I was pleased that she enjoyed it.

                2. THG is the one. It’s the best by far IMO. It holds a special place because it was one of the movies that happened to be playing when my wife and I came together as a couple. She’s not a fan but hey, I never expected her to be. She just happened to stop by and it was one of the videos my friends and I had planned to watch that night.

    2. @kab

Agreed. SNL is just not funny at all anymore. Not even a little bit imo. It’s become:

      Stupid Nonsense (for) Liberals.

  14. it would lead to people genuinely changing their minds about who is guilty about what

Maybe so, but Dan Bongino, Mark Levin, Byron York, John Solomon, and many others have been putting the pieces together for quite some time. We knew that the Russian Collusion narrative was wrong at least a year and a half ago. Evidence has done nothing but mount to show that the real parties guilty of working with the Russians to affect the Presidential election were the Democrats and officials at the DOJ, FBI, and CIA. Even the NYT/WaPo have reported that the collusion information was likely Russian disinformation. We know that the FBI knew that the Steele dossier was hot garbage. So who do you think took Russian disinformation and used it to get FISA warrants in order to go after the Trump campaign?

I’m always hopeful that more people will change their minds, but at this point the evidence is out there for anyone willing to do a little looking. Just listen to a few episodes of Bongino’s podcast. It’s all he really talks about. He lays it all out every which way from Sunday.

if it exists, why hasn’t Trump de-classified it and released it?

I wish Trump’s people had found a way to reveal more info a long time ago, but there are a lot of valid reasons why Trump didn’t do it. All you have to do is look at the second half of the Mueller report to see that he and his goons were looking for any excuse to charge obstruction of justice. Having Trump direct people in the DOJ to interfere with the investigation by releasing classified information would have raised constant calls of obstruction. In keeping with my point up above, I’m not sure that having more evidence would have convinced many people who had already made up their minds. They weren’t paying attention to the evidence that was already out there that showed the Trump/Russian collusion narrative was a hoax.

Overall, I think that the strategy of letting the process play out is working. Bill Barr has put things in motion to begin prosecuting the bad actors in all this. Hang tight.

  15. Trey knows so much that he is not lawfully allowed to tell us.

I don’t do spicy hot anything. I don’t do foods or food additives that induce :fire: pain.

  16. I admit that I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time watching those “ghost pepper challenge” videos on youtube. They’re hilarious. Ghost peppers (and carolina reapers) turn cocky people into little puddles of regretful humanity.

    1. Gowdy’s problem was almost never that he didn’t provide good information or good arguments.

Gowdy’s problem has always been that he was unable to follow through on his good information and arguments – likely because he was a Boehner/Ryan toady.

  17. If anyone hasn’t noticed for these past two and a half years, President Trump likes to give people rope and in the end, he drops the hammer… he’ll likely wait for the IG report to come out; along with the AG Barr, US Attorney Huber, and US Attorney Durham’s investigations. 20. Someone needs to create a “Tre” tee shirt. Like Che, but with weird hair.

    No particular reason.

  22. The only thing more conspicuous than SNL’s hatred of all things not leftist is the embarrassing absence of humor.

  23. ……….and so Gowdy just wants to leave it at that, not bring it forward. If the evidence is there Trey tell us what you saw.

      1. @toon Ain’t that the ever lovin’ truth. It’s like having a huge pit bull guarding your house, but without teeth.

        1. While I was growing up our next door neighbor had a beautiful doberman pinscher.
This dog would bark and growl and pull on its chain toward anyone who walked up the road. If they walked toward the dog it would run up the porch shaking and cowering at the door.
          Yeah, that’s Gowdy.

          1. @toon My son works for the Post Office and he’s come to realize the stereotype of Postmen and dogs, which depresses him because he used to love dogs (he still loves ours). Yesterday while delivering he got caught off guard without his pepper spray and other anti-dog protection when a pitbull came around the back of his truck. The thing was huge and my son said fear hit him like a punch the face with a mental “Oh Sh**!” The dog gave him an intense look then walked up to him and leaned against my son’s leg looking for loving. Disaster averted and underwear still clean, my son complied.

            1. My son was a postman as well. Though he never had any real problems with dogs he did carry pepper spray hoping he would never have to use it.
He is now a FedEx driver and has been doing mostly commercial deliveries. He will likely be doing residential soon though.

  24. Trump needs to take a breath and stop the tweets this weekend.

That said, I’m afraid if they don’t get this information out there the media will have already brainwashed too many that Trump won’t stand a chance.

He was cleared, and it’s still going.

    1. Don’t worry, the pendulum will be swinging really fast and hard in the other direction. There’s just too much evidence out there that shows the wrongdoing by Brennan, Comey, the DNC, and many others. Barr’s appointment of Durham signals that this s*** just got real.

    1. @sheerpolitics She moved from Missouri? Oh, wait. I was confused with St. Brown the Gentle for a second. So hard to keep track of our modern martyrs.

  25. Sorry, but I don’t believe Gowdy about anything anymore. He refused to go after Hillary, for either Benghazi or her unsecured server. Or Lois Lerner going after conservative groups.

He just flaps his lips when he wants attention….

  26. Someone needs to create a “Tre” tee shirt. Like Che, but with weird hair.

    No particular reason.

  27. Isn’t Trey the one who led the investigation on Benghazi??

All the hype, then a nothing burger when we all knew it was Obama & Hillary that left 4 Americans to be murdered.

After that little stunt, I find it hard to take Trey seriously.

  28. Trey is part of the reason we lost the house he retires and then has the nerve to go on Fox and give his useless 2 cents !!

    !!

  29. Plenty of rich people in heaven — Abraham, David, Joseph of Arimathea, etc.

      1. The apostle Paul, quoting the psalms, wrote: “There is none good, no not one.” That includes the rich young ruler. That young man’s biggest problem was that he thought he had kept the commandments. Jesus, the Great Physician, quickly put his finger on something that showed he had not. The first table of the Law is summarized in the statement: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, all soul, and mind.” Jesus showed this person that he loved his wealth more than God.

All have sinned. All need a Savior to make atonement for sin before God. Jesus did that through His innocent suffering and death. Our only hope is that God counts Jesus’ death as our death and credits Jesus’ righteousness to our account. Thank God for sending Jesus!

          1. That’s ok. Most of the team is on the injured list! They called up a bunch of minor league players and ended up in first place anyway. That’s what is so amazing

      1. He won’t get the nomination, Al Sharpton explained why two weeks ago and nobody refuted him when he said blacks won’t support a homosexual candidate.

      2. @landscaper While I agree it will be tough getting the blacks and Latinos to vote for a homosexual, the rest of the lib/Left is ready right now. And if there is going to be Dem support, it won’t take 10-15 years. Maybe one or two more election cycles, UNLESS the whole trans/gender fluidity thing goes so overboard (like it’s heading) that it swings the pendulum back the other way (possible but unlikely).

    2. Yeah, I think his numbers may get a big bump after this and likely more bumps as soon as they see him on the debate stage. You can’t deny that he’s got an impressive resume for his age and the new flavor of the month is what seems to win among Democrats (other than Biden????? lol maybe not). 1. @bigsir74 I agree, because no matter how good a facade Mayor Pete presents – and make no mistake, unlike the rest of them, it’s really good – his policies line up with all the rest of them. With any other GOP opponent this would be big TROUBLE, but Trump has a way of cutting through the bs, fearlessly, and he will expose him.

  38. Trump needs to take a breath and stop the tweets this weekend.
