At his rally in Ohio on Saturday, President Trump absolutely smote Republican primary candidate Matt Dolan’s ruin upon the mountainside, trashing him as a RINO and a pushover to the woke left who let his family’s MLB franchise get renamed.
See Dolan’s father bought the Cleveland Indians back in 2000, and candidate Dolan had a stake in the team ownership. He also worked out of the front office of the team until before 2016. After that he’s served as a Republican in the Ohio State Senate and is now running against Trump-backed Bernie Moreno for the United States Senate.
Moreno was more or less the object of today’s rally in Dayton, and Trump went OFF on Dolan, calling him a “weak RINO” who is “trying to become the next Mitt Romney.”
He brought up the Cleveland name change, saying, “Matt Dolan once ran for office as a Democrat, and he’s easily pushed around by the woke left lunatics who renamed his family’s baseball team.”
“My attitude is, anybody that changes the name of the Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians should not be a senator, should not be a governor,” he said.
But boy oh BOY was that not all he said.
Just brutal. I gotta say I don’t love trashing elected Republicans and I’ve said that before. But that name change was pretty unpopular in Ohio, and it was definitely driven by the wokes.
