This morning Trump addressed the impeachment threats being made by Democrats. Instead of attacking the more disgusting examples we’ve seen in the last 24 hours, Trump took the high road:
As I have stated many times, if the Democrats take over the House or Senate, there will be disruption to the Financial Markets. We won the Senate, they won the House. Things will settle down. They only want to impeach me because they know they can’t win in 2020, too much success!
How do you impeach a president who has won perhaps the greatest election of all time, done nothing wrong (no Collusion with Russia, it was the Dems that Colluded), had the most successful first two years of any president, and is the most popular Republican in party history 93%?

I’m not sure where Trump gets the 93%, but it’s probably not too far off from that considering he’s just talking about the Republican Party. The numbers I’ve see, at least recently, are closer to an 80% approval rating. But Trump may be using a number from last year?
In any event, I do like that Trump didn’t go into attack mode as he has in the past.
Also, he’s not wrong about their reason for wanting to impeach him. This whole wall battle is political because they don’t want Trump to win in 2020. If he finishes building a big steel fence or at least secures the funding to finish it, that’s a huge win for him and a big promise he can say he kept. He’ll be the only president to have secured the border with a barrier and that will certainly help him in 2020.
