Trump took to his Truth account yesterday to blame many pro-lifers for the lackluster Republican midterm wins.
He suggested in a Truth post that pro-life Republicans who refuse to allow abortion ‘exceptions’ are the reason why Republicans lost “large numbers of voters”.
Trump said: “It was the “abortion issue,” poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters.”

Trump doesn’t just blame ‘no exception’ pro-lifers, but also Mitch McConnell for refusing to fund some of his candidates.
I think there is little doubt that the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade played a part in the lackluster midterms. But I think that has more do to Democrats fearmongering over the issue, claiming gay marriage and civil rights were next on the chopping block than it has to do with pro-lifers demanding no exceptions to abortion. This is where Democrat control of the media plays a big part in helping them push their phony narrative.
Did Republicans lose voters over more strident anti-abortion positions? Probably. But was that the big issue that Trump is making it out to be? I don’t know and I don’t think he does either.
I do find it interesting that Trump doesn’t take any blame whatsoever, when reports were that he has a huge political warchest and spent little of it to get Republicans elected.
Also it’s no secret that the left despises Trump and in some ways he is politically toxic. It might be that some of his more strident candidates who were completely beholden to him lost voters because of him.
My point is that there are many reasons why we didn’t win more seats in the midterms and I find it a little insulting that Trump is choosing to lash out against the pro-life movement as a way of excusing himself of blame.
