This morning as Trump’s plane landed in the US, he took a moment to declare that N. Korea is no longer a nuclear threat. That’s right, he’s declaring victory:
Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!

Before taking office people were assuming that we were going to War with North Korea. President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most dangerous problem. No longer - sleep well tonight!

We save a fortune by not doing war games, as long as we are negotiating in good faith - which both sides are!

I know that KJU has agreed to a step-by-step denuclearization plan, but how can Trump be sure he’ll follow it? He just landed! KJU has only been home for a day or so and hasn’t even had time to deliver on his promises yet. What ever happened to ‘trust but verify’?
I said yesterday that it appears Trump has gone ‘all in’ on this, but I didn’t think he would already be declaring victory before anything has happened.
This has all the potential to blow up in his face and he’s setting himself up to be embarrassed. I hope it doesn’t happen. I pray he’s right, but it sure sounds like he’s putting the cart before the horse.
