Gov DeSantis has come out swinging today against the former president, hammering Trump for being a very different candidate than he was in 2016.
Here’s the video:

Here’s part of what he said:
[Trump] is wedded to the teleprompter – he can’t get off that teleprompter! Everytime he does he says things like ‘don’t vote’ – he’s telling people not to vote, like we have all the votes we need? Really? Wait a minute, you lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton in 2016. You don’t have all the votes you need.
I think that it’s just shown that this is a different Donald Trump than in 2015 and 2016. He’s lost the zip on his fastball, has a sense of entitlement. He doesn’t think he’s got to go through and earn it like other candidates. That’s just not going to fly in Iowa and New Hampshire.
What DeSantis is referring to is from yesterday, where Trump confused the countries of Hungary and Turkey and told voters not to worry about voting:
Every time Trump veers off the teleprompter, what happens? He becomes a major liability for his campaign. Yesterday is a great example.

Then Trump laid out his foolproof strategy to win in 2024: convince Republicans NOT to vote!

He’s not wrong. Trump is confusing more stuff these days than he did in 2016. I know, I know, he’s just mispeaking. But is he really? He confused Jeb Bush with George W. Bush, suggested Biden might start World War II and confused Joe Biden with Barack Obama. And now this. Trump is sounding a little more like Joe Biden these days…
