Trump-hating Oscars ceremony hits RECORD LOW ratings – MILLIONS stopped watching

The Oscars continue to lose viewers, and it can’t be a coincidence that they keep getting more and more political.

More from USA Today:

The 90th Oscars ceremony gave several movies their moment of glory.

But ABC, which broadcast the awards, isn’t getting any trophies.

Continuing a recent trend, ratings for the 3 hour and 50 minute telecast dropped to a record low of 26.5 million viewers, down a big 20% from last year’s 33 million. The previous record low of 32 million was set in 2008, with Jon Stewart as host, just after an 11-week Hollywood writers’ strike that crippled other awards shows.

And the Washington Examiner:

The early Nielsen numbers found about 24 million people watched the Oscars on Sunday night, down from 33 million in 2017, though the numbers do not include people who streamed the show on digital devices.

The early ratings reflect “an all-time low,” Variety said.

Wow. That’s a heck of a lot of people who are ignoring the Oscars. And I think partly it’s because many celebrities stopped being entertaining and just started trying to please their Republican-bashing fans. I honestly don’t even mind when they make fun of conservative stuff – as long as they’re entertaining or funny. But they’re neither. So screw em.
