Trump is BEATING Democrats in new USA Today poll, impeachment support fading fast…

The polling has clearly shifted and Trump is now beating all of his Democratic rivals in a new poll out today by USA Today:

USA TODAY – President Donald Trump, the first modern president to face impeachment during his first term in the White House, now leads his top Democratic rivals in his bid for a second, a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll finds.

The national survey, taken as the House of Representatives planned an impeachment vote and the Senate a trial, showed Trump defeating former Vice President Joe Biden by 3 percentage points, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by 5 points, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren by 8 points.

In hypothetical head-to-head contests, Trump also led South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg by 10 points and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg by 9.

It would seem the partisan impeachment led by Pelosi and Schiff has rallied support around Trump, as earlier this year Trump was losing to all of these Democrats in head to head contests. But we’re just under a year away from the general election, so keep that in mind.

As far as support for impeachment, here’s RCP’s running graph of support for impeachment. The black line, which indicates negative support for impeachment, is trending higher:

And as you can see below, polling from USA Today, CNN, Quinnipiac, and others are showing that support for impeachment is fading:

We’ll see what happens tomorrow with the impeachment vote. But based on these polls, it wouldn’t surprise me if some Democrats who could lose in November are having some serious second thoughts…
