Trump just got a big endorsement from a Florida Congressman

Former President Donald Trump just got a big endorsement from a Florida Congressman.

I’m not really one to tout many endorsements for candidates unless they seem like a big deal. Rep. Massie just endorsed DeSantis this week, following Chip Roy’s endorsement last month which we covered.

However this endorsement of Trump from Byron Donalds seems like a big deal to me considering the name Donalds has made for himself as a respected conservative from Florida.

I think what surprises me most is that this endorsement would come amidst Trump’s terrible behavior in the last 6 months with respect to DeSantis. I’ve made clear how I feel about that but I guess it doesn’t bother Rep. Donalds.

Now to be clear I’m not suggesting Donalds endorse DeSantis, because at present DeSantis isn’t running for president. He hasn’t announced and therefore there’s really nothing to endorse yet, despite a couple of congressmen preemptively endorsing him.

I’m also not saying Trump doesn’t deserve this endorsement. It’s fine for Donalds to endorse him, it just surprises me given Trump’s behavior.
