Trump on Hillary: “She’s very smart and has a major chance to be our next president”

Ok, this is circa 2006, but still, you know there’s gonna be more of this:

The comments came in an interview with Maureen Dowd of the New York Times titled “Trump Fired Up,” in which Trump also said the then-New York senator might be the next president.

Wrote Dowd:

He thinks John McCain has lost the 2008 election by pushing to send more troops to Iraq but that Hillary should be forgiven for her “horrendous” vote to authorize the war. “Don’t forget that decision was based on lies given to her,” he says. “She’s very smart and has a major chance to be our next president.”

Trump is going to look even more hypocritical than Romney did in 2012 when this is all said and done. To say 10 years ago that she should be forgiven, and then to hold her accountable for it now will only look like political expedience to most people sitting on the fence. Maybe it won’t hurt him or maybe not.

But I’m sure this is the tip of the Trump iceberg.

I will note that Andrew Kaczynski, the Buzzfeed author of this piece, has written very little if anything negative about Hillary Clinton lately. But then what did we expect from the media once Trump was the last man standing?
