Today Bill Barr went all in on Trump being charged under the Espionage Act, telling Fox News that he feels those counts in indictment are ‘solid’:

He also claimed this is not a witch hunt and it’s ridiculous for anyone to suggest it is:

Trump responded to Barr a little while ago on Trump Social:
“Virtually everyone is saying that the Indictment is about Election Interference & should not have been brought, except Bill Barr, a “disgruntled former employee” & lazy Attorney General who was weak & totally ineffective. He doesn’t mean what he’s saying, it’s just MISINFORMATION.Barr’s doing it because he hates “TRUMP” for firing him. He was deathly afraid of the Radical Left when they said they would Impeach him. He knows the Indictment is Bull…. Turn off FoxNews when that “Gutless Pig” is on!”
The bottom line on this for me is that even if Trump did something wrong here or even egregious, I can’t get past the overarching politics being involved in this prosecution from the beginning. It’s not just the fact that it’s blatantly selective partisan prosecution. It’s also that this is part of Democrats’ years-long agenda to destroy Trump and now Biden is trying to take out one of his main competitors in the 2024 election.
