Trump sat down with Laura Ingraham today for an interview tonight, and in the little excerpt released by Fox News Trump tells Ingraham that Soleimani was targeting at least four embassies, one of which was Baghdad:
I see liberals on Twitter refusing to believe Trump because…well, they hate Trump and don’t want him to be right. They say want they evidence, but I suspect even with solid evidence, they’d still not believe Trump. It’s a losing battle trying to convince them.
In related news, the US led an unsuccessful attempt to take out another top Iranian after they killed Soleimani:
SCOOP: On the same day U.S. forces killed Solemiani, they launched another secret kill operation to take out a senior Iranian official in Yemen, but did not succeed. 1/ My latest with @missy_ryan and @jdawsey1 https://t.co/RbwmQuJd9Z

The unsuccessful operation may indicate that the killing of Soleimani was part of a broader operation than previously explained, raising questions about whether the mission was designed to cripple the leadership of the IRGC or solely to prevent an imminent attack 2/

Officials at the Pentagon and in Florida were monitoring both strikes and had discussed announcing them together, had they gone well, officials said. “If we had killed him, we’d be bragging about it that same night,” a senior U.S. official said 4/

Trump-hating Democrats are hyperventilating over this news…
BREAKING: The US unsuccessfully targeted another senior Iranian military official in Yemen on the same night the US killed Soleimani—via CNN. Trump is absolutely out of control and a massive threat to our national security. The Senate must remove him immediately.

Puhlease. The Iranians are the threat to our national security and Trump so far has handled this very well. If he hadn’t, we might actually be headed for war with the Iranians. But instead, it looks like things have de-escalated without any other American deaths since Iran began this madness.
