Today is DACA day at the Supreme Court, where justices will finally hear arguments over whether or not Trump can undo the program that Obama illegally began. Trump suggested in a tweet this morning that if the Supreme Court rules that he can dismantle the program, as it should, then he will make a deal with Democrats for DACA recipients to stay in the US:
Many of the people in DACA, no longer very young, are far from “angels.” Some are very tough, hardened criminals. President Obama said he had no legal right to sign order, but would anyway. If Supreme Court remedies with overturn, a deal will be made with Dems for them to stay!

About 700,000 ‘dreamers’ are covered by DACA right now and there’s no way Trump is going to deport them unless they are criminals, as he suggested in his tweet. In fact, if you remember, the deal Trump was going to make on DACA at the beginning of 2018 included all those eligible for DACA, which takes the number from 700,000 to well into the millions.
So believe him when he says he’ll make a deal for them to stay in the US.
The Supreme Court ruling on this won’t happen until next year, right in the middle of the election.
