Trump says ‘it’s not the big thing’ that China cornered market on PPE while virus spread…

Everyone should watch this interview with President Trump to see where he’s at with China. He talks about the theory that the virus came from a lab, whether China intended it, and all the accusations from Sen. Tom Cotton.

OK. There’s a lot here.

1) He wants to blame China for the virus, but he doesn’t really care if it came from a lab, and he doesn’t think they purposely spread it. He does not seem to think they made the “decision” to let the virus go beyond their borders, he thinks it just got out of control.

2) Tom Cotton straight up accused China of lying about the spread of the virus in order to corner the market on PPE, and Trump doesn’t deny it, he just says it’s not the big deal. He kinda dismisses that.

3) He doesn’t seem to want to cut off visas from Chinese students, as Tom Cotton suggested.

4) He deflects from criticism against China and hits NATO instead.

5) He doesn’t really answer when questioned about the very strict suggestion to force Chinese companies to have tighter accounting rules before being listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He says if he does that, they’re gonna move their companies to the London stock exchange or other exchanges. So. Not really about that either.

What do you all think about this? He really goes easy on China in this interview. What is the grand strategy here?
