In a late-night tweet, Trump wrote that Erdogan promises to take of what’s left of ISIS in Syria:

Welp, there you go. Trump is essentially giving Syria to Turkey now with his blessing.
This is what Erdogan has wanted all along as he seeks to kill all the kurds in Northern Syria. Before it looked like there might be a conflict between the US and Turkey in Manbij, where we are stationed with the Kurds who helped us against ISIS. But now Erdogan will be able to take Manbij and the rest of Northern Syria without worrying about US reprisals.
And imagine how the US giving in to Turkey will make Erdogan look in the Middle East? It can’t hurt, as the future caliph can tell them he’s subdued the US or something. He comes out looking like the victor!
Again, I don’t know how exactly Turkey and Iran are going to divy up Syria, but they are both there to stay. And we are apparently ok with that. Ugh.
