You’d think if Putin really wanted to help Trump, he wouldn’t be telling the media that he and Trump talk on the phone ‘regularly’ and that they make a good team:
NY POST – Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he and President Trump “regularly talk over the phone” — and that they make a good team in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking to Austrian television channel ORF ahead of a visit to Vienna on Tuesday, Putin said he “fully agreed” with Trump that a new arms race could break out between the countries — but hoped they could prevent that, CNN reported.
Putin said that in a recent phone call, “Donald said he was worried about the possibility of a new arms race.”
“I fully agree with him — however, to prevent a possible arms [race], we should think about it, we should do something about it, give corresponding instructions to our Foreign Ministry and the US State Department,” Putin added.
Asked by an Austrian journalist why there had been no US-Russia summit since Trump was sworn in, Putin said the pair had met more than once at international events but that there were no immediate plans for a formal meeting, the network reported.
“I think that the possibility of these meetings depends to a large extent on the internal political situation in the United States,” Putin said.
“The congressional election campaign is getting underway and then there will be the next presidential election, and the President of the United States is coming under attack over various matters. I think this is the main reason.”
The reason I entitled this the way I did is because I can imagine Trump, after being so frustrated by this Russia investigation, calling Putin up in response to this story and telling him that he’s not helping! LOL!
According to the Post, Trump and Vlady have only spoken eight times and met twice in person. They also point out that Obama called Putin just as much during his first two years in office, which was around nine times.
