Not a surprise here, Trump double downed on his Andrew Jackson claim. But he made sure to let everyone know that he knew Jackson wasn’t alive during the Civil War…

Wherever you fall on the actual substance of the comment, it’s pretty clear that Trump has only a passing knowledge of the Civil War, and of Andrew Jackson, and of nearly everything.

Mark Levin also took down the claim pretty well here. But whatever you think of the Civil War, it’s like debating whether a historical figure is good or bad based on the occasion of a pigeon crapping on a statute. We’re putting way too much thought and effort into what is a pretty brainless act.
