This was his plan the whole time – the likely reason he suddenly wants to get it done is that the midterms were disastrous for the House, and his time is limited before the Dems take control. All that Erdogan did is make it easier for him to do what he always wanted to do. But, as with former presidents, you break it, you buy it. Now Dems will pin ANY deleterious events in Syria and Afghanistan on the Donald.
