This morning Trump has taken to Twitter to defend himself against the fake whistleblower controversy:

The Fake Whistleblower complaint is not holding up. It is mostly about the call to the Ukrainian President which, in the name of transparency, I immediately released to Congress & the public. The Whistleblower knew almost nothing, its 2ND HAND description of the call is a fraud!

Again, the President of Ukraine said there was NO (ZERO) PRESSURE PUT ON HIM BY ME. Case closed!

Trump also wants to know who changed the whistleblower rules before the fake whistleblower complaint was submitted:

That is the big question right now. I don’t like conspiracy theories but this seems far too suspicious to have just happened in routine business.
Trump then went after Adam Schiff for lying about the contents of his phone call with President Zelensky during last week’s hearing, asking if he should be arrested for Treason:
Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people. It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason?

Of all things I’m not sure why Trump would suggest this was ‘Treason’. The only “enemy” Schiff is giving “aid and comfort” to is the House Democrats who have waged political war against him. What Schiff did was egregious, but certainly not Treason – at least as far as I can tell.
