The White House has released what I would call a weak statement on the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, never once even mentioning the term ‘genocide’ (click to enlarge):
The statement reads like they are trying to walk the line of appeasement while trying to sound like they are acknowledge it. But we aren’t stupid.
Not only do they omit the term ‘Armenian Genocide’, they also don’t call on Erdogan and the Turkish government to acknowledge the genocide that was committed by Ottoman Turks just over 100 year ago.
Honestly, it’s only slightly more firm than was Obama’s statement last year.
