Trump’s Interior Secretary: I don’t speak for the president on Climate Change

I guess CNN is enjoying questioning everyone in the Trump administration about whether or not Trump still believes Climate Change is a hoax, as you see here:

I’m very glad Trump killed the Paris Accords deal yesterday despite his suggestion that he’s ready to negotiate with Dems on the matter. He did the right thing yesterday and communicated it very well in his speech.

That said, this question of whether or not he still believes climate change is a hoax shouldn’t be a hard question to answer. I guarantee you if Cruz were president everyone would know exactly where he stands on this issue. Why? Because Cruz has core values. Trump does not, which makes him and his shifting values an easy target in segments like this. No one in his administration will dare say exactly where Trump stands because Trump might come out and contradict them, or because his position is too politically controversial for either the left or the right.

Based on his speech yesterday, I’d say he believes Climate Change is legitimate but doesn’t agree with the solution, which is why he pulled out of the Accords. But even that is a contradiction of what he said in 2014 where he called it an out and out hoax.

In any event, what he did yesterday is far more important that what he’s said in the past and I do applaud him for that. I just hate how painful it looks for his own people to dance around and deflect when it comes to his stance on the issue.
