Tucker Carlson tells the story of a Capitol Police officer who was suspended over a strategic wearing of a MAGA hat on Jan 6th

Tonight Tucker Carlson told the story of Tarik Johnson, a 22-year Capitol police officer who was in charge of the Senate deliberations on January 6th.

Johnson was in the middle of everything and explains how he evacuated the Senate after hearing that the Capitol was breached.

Instead of being rewarded for his actions on that day, he was suspended for wearing a MAGA hat outside the Capitol. He eventually resigned and lost his pension.

Regarding the MAGA hat, the short version is that someone put the hat on Johnson’s head while he was outside the Capitol. They asked for it back, but he realized that it would help him get through the crowd and up the Capitol steps to help officers who required assistance. So he asked the guy if he could keep it and used it for that very purpose. He wore the hat and high-fived people and was able get through the crowd and up the steps.

I should note that Johnson voted for Biden.

The other interesting thing is that when Johnson radioed in to get permission to evacuate the Senate, he got no response. He knew he might be disciplined for it, but he thought protecting the lives of elected officials was more important. So that’s what he did.
