As you know, Senate Republicans defeated the phony ‘voting rights’ bill, better known as the ‘Screw the People Act’, which Democrats put up for a vote yesterday. Not a single Republican would vote for it because it amounted to a federal takeover of state elections and gutted voter ID, which has turned out to be very popular.
In summary:
A steak dinner to any reporter on TV or writing about the election bill who mentions even a single one of the dealbreaker provisions – the primary reasons R’s rejected it:
✅ Taxpayer funded campaigns
✅ Gutting voter ID
✅ Mandating ballot harvesting
✅ Politicizing FEC— Matt Whitlock (@mattdizwhitlock) June 22, 2021
I’m pretty sure no one in the MSM is gonna get that steak dinner because they are all pushing the phony garbage take that Democrats are spewing, and that includes the leftists at Twitter.
Yesterday Twitter did a small news blurb about the vote and here’s how they covered it:
As Dinesh D’Souza pointed out in a tweet, “Notice how Twitter’s report gives the Democratic rationale for the bill but disingenuously omits the Republican rationale for opposing it.”
Exactly. They don’t even attempt to provide one reason why Republicans voted against it. They just push the Democratic talking points about it and keep rolling.
Speaking of garbage takes, here’s the one from AOC yesterday:
Call me radical, but I do not believe a minority of Senators should be able to block voting rights for millions of people.
But I guess I’m just from that far-left school of thought that legislation should pass when a majority of legislators vote for it https://t.co/NTtk28BwRs

A minority of Senators? The vote was 50-50! Both parties share an equal number of Senators in the Senate. The only reason why Democrats hold the technical majority is because they have a Democrat vice president who can give them one extra vote when needed. That’s it.
Further, and as has been pointed out many times, Democrats used the filibuster hundreds of times to stop legislation brought by Republicans over the last four years. Did AOC really believe then that a ‘minority of Senators’ (when Democrats were a true minority) shouldn’t be able to block important Republican legislation? A majority of Senators voted for these bills, but I don’t remember her crying foul back then.
So yes, AOC a radical alright, a radical hypocrite and a radical socialist. Just like water is wet.
