Late last night we posted Trump’s warning to Minneapolis that you probably saw by now, warning them that if the mayor doesn’t get his act together and protect the city, that Trump would send in the National Guard to get the job done.
Well one of those tweets were flagged by Twitter as having violated their rules about glorifying violence, saying “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
When you click the ‘view’ button, it still shows the tweet, but with the warning label:
Twitter explained in a tweet that they are worked about it inspiring others to commit violence or something:
We've taken action in the interest of preventing others from being inspired to commit violent acts, but have kept the Tweet on Twitter because it is important that the public still be able to see the Tweet given its relevance to ongoing matters of public importance.

Notice they reference the ‘historical context’ of the phrase “when the looting starts the shooting starts”. Apparently they are referring a time in 1967 when that phrase was used to condone police brutality.
But obviously that isn’t at all what Trump meant. He sympathetically referenced Floyd in the tweet, not anything regarding 1967. And he was talking about the thugs burning down buildings and looting the city.
Dan Scavino was not happy and pointed out the hypocrisy:
Twitter is targeting the President of the United States 24/7, while turning their heads to protest organizers who are planning, plotting, and communicating their next moves daily on this very platform. Twitter is full of shit – more and more people are beginning to get it. https://t.co/nQjnIUofsF

Richard Grenell joined in, showing a tweet from Iran’s Supreme leader literally glorifying murderous jihad from just a few days ago that Twitter apparently doesn’t care about:
. @jack allows the promotion of violence on twitter. https://t.co/5TJ9f5TYGG

I’m sure there are plenty of other examples but you get the idea. Twitter has proven they are willing to target Trump and hold him to a standard they are unwilling to do for other, for far worse tweets. And note they did it in record time!
