Two oil tankers attacked with explosives in waters near Iran, US Navy renders assistance…

Late last night two oil tankers were attacked with explosives in the Gulf of Oman which is on the eastern side of the Straits of Hormuz off the coast of Iran. The US Navy rendered assistance.

Here’s what we know:

The two oil tankers were carrying Japanese petroleum products and had just left ports at both Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Forty-four sailors had to be rescued, twenty-two of which were rescued by the US Navy as they rendered assistance.

From the reporting it sounds as if they don’t know exactly who attacked the ships. But Iran is probably the biggest suspect.

Here’s a video of one of the ships on fire:

Trump has been briefed and both Bolton and Pompeo are at the Pentagon this morning.
