KaeperNike shoes doubled down in this very weird ad showing Colin Kaepernick going on and on about how great he is, and he’s the best quarterback to ever play the game.

This ad makes no sense. Kaepernick didn’t do any of those amazing things he’s talking about. At best he’s a mediocre quarterback whining that no one wants to sign on to his insane political agenda. All of sudden he’s the best player who ever played the game? What?
Apparently this will air tomorrow during the first game of the season – because the NFL hasn’t pissed off enough people already.
I guess they didn’t mind losing $3 billion when their stock price fell. But hey, they got millions in free ad exposure, so it all evens out, I guess.
Also, and I’m not saying this is intentional, but… isn’t it weird to talk about “unbelievers” after flashing the image of a Muslim athlete in a burka? And then they flashed her image afterward too. I don’t think they meant to do it, it’s just oddly tone-deaf.
Finally, KaeperNike’s voice is too high and whiny to be the narrator of an epic ad. Sorry.
