Joe Biden’s candidacy has taken a major hit in the two latest national polls, one out today and one out last week. The one out today, by Monmouth, has Biden in a virtual tie with both Warren and Sanders:
In June Biden was SOARING above Warren and Sanders at +17 points. But now he’s tied with both of them and his 13 point drop went to both of them almost evenly.
Now just in case you think this is a fluke, here is a poll by the Economist/YouGov from last Wednesday:
- Biden 22
- Sanders 19
- Warren 18
- Harris 8
- Buttigieg 8
- O’Rourke 3
- Booker 2
- Yang 1
- Castro 1
- Gabbard 2
- Klobuchar 0
- Williamson 0
- Steyer 0
They do a lot more polling than Monmouth but you can see over their most recent polls how Biden, even at the beginning of the month, was +7 over Warren and how that has dwindled as the month of August has progressed to just +3 over Sanders, who has really risen in their polling.
So this appears to be no fluke and August may be the beginning of the end for Biden, where he famously said “I’m not going nuts!”
