In an interview with Andrew Napolitano, Tucker Carlson said that he’s heard President Trump will announce that a new war is coming in his address to the nation tonight. He said this in the context of being asked about Venezuela.
He said members of Congress were briefed on this yesterday and that’s where he’s heard this news:
I appreciate Carlson not ‘overstating’ this news, but he really doesn’t have much credibility in my book at this point. Maybe he’s right, but I have a feeling he is not. I might guess, if it were so, that it could be a war on drugs and narco-terrorists in Venezuela. But that’s clearly already ongoing.
And, while we are blockading oil imports and exports in order to pressure Maduro, I really don’t expect it to escalate much more unless Venezuela decides to attack the US blockade, which I don’t think they’ll do.
