[VIDEO] Chris Wallace blames GOP blocking Merrick Garland for hyper-partisan divide on SCOTUS nominees

Chris Wallace took up the Democrat talking point on Fox News today and blamed the GOP Senate in 2016 for the hyper-partisan divide on Supreme Court nominees. He also defended Democratic Senators making Obamacare their center issue today against criticism from Jonathan Turley.

Watch:

To borrow a phrase, the Democrat in Chris Wallace spoke loudly today as he defended Democrats on every turn.

First, he responded to Trey Gowdy, who pointed out that Democratic Senators used to vote overwhelmingly for GOP nominees based on qualifications, but now they’ve become so hyper-partisan that they won’t even consider a qualified nominee. Wallace blamed this, in large part, on what happened in 2016 when the Republican Senate refused to consider Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland. You know, only butthurt Democrats continually bring his fake talking point up because it logically doesn’t hold water. As Ted Cruz and many others have explained, why would a Republican Senate consider a lame duck president’s Supreme Court nominee in an election year? They wouldn’t. As Turley mentioned above, Democrats would have done the exact same thing if the tables were reversed.

The reason for Democrats becoming hyper-partisan on Supreme Court nominees is the very same reason they want to add seats to the high court when they win power again, because they want to protect abortion and other big ticket liberal agenda items. That’s what this is all about and why they brutally attacked Kavanaugh like they did. It has nothing to do with Merrick Garland.

Secondly, Wallace defending Democrats making Obamacare an issue is absurd. If we want to be blunt, what Democrats are really trying to do is intimidate Amy Coney Barrett into making a pro-Obamacare decision (and energize their voting base before a huge election). As Turley pointed out, Democrats are making policy arguments when Barrett’s role as a justice would be deciding the legality and constitutionality of the law. She has nothing to do with policy. But like a good Democrat, Chris Wallace defends Democrats anyway.
