Last night this video came out accusing CNN of arranging Muslim protesters for a segment on the London terror attacks:
Clearly the backdrop is being staged and CNN certainly uses it for their segment:
CNN’s media guy, Brian Stelter, responded to the claims with these tweets:
Far-right twitterers are misleading folks about this video. Bloggers saying CNN was caught "staging fake news" (1/2) https://t.co/lvz6xznj18
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) June 5, 2017
Police allowed demonstrators thru cordon "so they could show their signs" to media, @CNNPR says. CNN, BBC, AP "simply filmed them doing so."

Now honestly I don’t know who actually staged the protesters there. You can see police officers directing them, as well as other people. But does it really matter? It sounds like from Stelter that all the big newsers used it.
Some argue that it’s not an uncommon practice for this to happen. Mediaite, for example, says this:
While the editorial decisions here are up for debate, arranging crowds for background perspective is not an uncommon practice in the news shots, and CNN insists that the Muslim crowd was already nearby before they ended up in front of the cameras.
Just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s okay. And even if they protesters were nearby to begin with, they are clearly now being staged for a backdrop. And after seeing all of this, how do we know that the protesters weren’t sent there by a group like CAIR for this specific purpose?
The whole thing just looks terrible.
So how long before Trump tweets this #FakeNews?
