VIDEO: Gov Greg Abbott EXPLAINS new law that bans Sanctuary Cities in Texas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed last night a bill that completely bans Sanctuary Cities in the state of Texas. He explains the bill below:

Abbott says the bill means that no city, county, or governmental body can adopt any police to provide sanctuary to illegals.

It also means law enforcement officials such as sheriffs must comply with ICE detainer requests. If they don’t comply then they would be adopting a Sanctuary City policy and might face jail time, being removed from office, or their city or county could face fines of up to $25k per day.

It does not, however, give a license to law enforcement to harass and profile Latinos, as Democrats are claiming. Abbott calls this ‘wild rhetoric’ and points out it’s already illegal to racially profile someone and if an officer does that they will be in a lot of trouble.
