Iran released a video yesterday of their air defenses shooting down one of our F-35 fighter jets. Nobody knows if the video is real, but it does seem to support the Pentagon’s statement about the pilot having a rough landing.
First, here’s the video:
NPR editor Geoff Brumfiel writes:
Our pentagon correspondent Tom Bowman reports pilot is in stable condition with shrapnel wounds. F-35 made a “hard landing” and won’t be returning to service anytime soon.
He then adds:
Seeing as this is getting some attention. Obviously it’s pretty hard to be sure this video is real, but I will note the plane keeps flying in the final frames.
That is consistent with the Pentagon account of a damaged F-35 that the injured pilot was able to land.
Honestly, I thought they didn’t have any air defenses left because the US and Israel took them all out.
