[VIDEO] – McConnell congratulates Joe Biden as president-elect – [UPDATE: NEWSMAX TOO]

Mitch McConnell just congratulated Joe Biden as president-elect on the Senate floor:

I know this will make me unpopular, but I really don’t think it’s unreasonable for McConnell to congratulate Biden at this point. He’s waited for the past six weeks, refusing to do this when the media was demanding everyone bow to Biden and kiss his ring. And now, after Trump’s biggest election challenges have been rejected by the courts and electors around the country officially voted yesterday for Biden, McConnell finally congratulates him.

I just don’t expect someone like McConnell to continue to resist congratulating Biden while Trump continues his fight. Trump’s road to winning this in the courts was an uphill battle to begin with, and it’s even more so now. We are now past the point at which Al Gore lost his fight in 2000. Only the hardest of hardcore Republicans would refuse at this point to call Biden ‘president-elect’, and McConnell most certainly isn’t one of them. While he has had a few moments of greatness under Trump’s presidency, he has plenty more squishy establishment moments that we’ve all seen.

I know the election challenges are still ongoing and like many of you, I do hope that Trump can find a way to beat a corrupt election that seems undeniable at this point. I’m just not going to hold it against McConnell for congratulating Biden at this late point in the game.
