Mike Pence, who will probably announce his candidacy for president soon, said tonight on Fox Business that DeSantis should have left Disney alone:

I really don’t understand this. People like Trump, Pence, and Haley act as though there is some universal constant where you have to let businesses do whatever they want without consequences. That’s insane.
Disney came out for GROOMING elementary school children and tried to stop a bill that protected these young children from the alphabet mafia. It wasn’t just that they opposed the bill, they tried to organize and stop the bill.
But the bigger point is that DeSantis and the legislature simply took a special privilege away that the state gave them decades ago, something they never should have been given in the first place. They can still operate Disney World as they always did, they simply can’t govern the area in which the park operates. They must now live under the same laws as everyone else. How people like Trump, Pence and Haley oppose something like this boggles the mind.
And the last point is this. As I explained earlier, Disney didn’t kill their billion dollar plans because of DeSantis. Iger didn’t want to do it in the first place and the company needed to cut billions from their budget, as the Times explained. Pence should have kept reading and he’d have realized this. But my guess is he did read it, but he’d rather use this as something to attack DeSantis.
