VIDEO: Morning Joe compares Trump to the KKK

Morning Joe is at it again, vomiting up his analysis on Trump’s tweets over the weekend, comparing Trump to the likes of David Duke and the KKK:

Here’s the transcript via Paul Bedard:

Karine Jean-Pierre: “If you did a blind test on the Twitter feed, you could not tell the difference between the Twitter feed of the President of the United States and a radical racist white supremacist. You couldn’t tell the difference.”

Joe Scarborough: “David Duke. Seriously, you could ask people, did David Duke say this or did Donald Trump say this?”

Jean-Pierre: “Yes, that’s exactly right. Joe. And here’s the thing, this goes back to the point I was tying to make at the beginning here. Donald Trump is not testing his 2020 strategy. This is his 2020 strategy. It is racism. It is fear. It is bigotry.”

Mika Brzezinski: “It’s his last hope.”

Jean-Pierre: “Exactly. This is his last hope.”

….

Scarborough, at 6:32 a.m.: “This is about a political party now that has embraced the racial ideology of David Duke. Good luck with that in the years to come. Because you are going to be left on the dust bin of political history, Republicans.”

….

Scarborough, at 8:59 a.m.: “These are not the words of an American president we heard over the weekend. These are the words of David Duke, Klans members, and white nationalists, neo Nazis. They know it. They know it. They need to condemn it today.”

This hyperbole is ridiculous, but predictable. Morning Joe always like to jump off the deep end when it comes to criticizing Trump.

Look, both yesterday and today Trump has been attacking the anti-American spirit of these radical socialists as well as their anti-Semitism, but NOT their race. As I said before today, his comments were clumsy and controversial and certainly worthy of criticism. But to compare him to the KKK and David Duke is utter nonsense.

Even Bernie Marcus, who is going to donate a ton of money to get Trump reelected, acknowledged that Trump’s communication “sucks”.

MRC’s own Brent Baker told the Examiner…

“Reasonable people can be uncomfortable with the tenor of Trump’s Sunday tweets suggesting four far-left congresswomen “go back” to their countries, but Scarborough, as he too often does, is so enraged that he goes beyond rational criticism and impugns the president and all Republicans as members of the Klan. Thus, he loses any credibility as a critic of Trump and Trump’s supporters.”

I totally agree. Morning Joe lost credibility a long time ago on criticizing Trump. Which is ironic because Scarborough certainly loved having Trump on his show back in 2015/16. Ratings!
