Yesterday Rand Paul was asked about the anonymous deep stater working against Trump’s agenda and he had this to say about determining how to find the person(s) in this secret resistance:
What gets me is that CNN is trying to play this as though Rand Paul is hypocrite. How could a civil libertarian support such a heavy handed move by the government?
But this isn’t the government giving polygraphs to its normal citizenry. This is the government doing it to itself and with good cause.
So yeah, while it is a big deal and something you’d never want to see happening in your government, I don’t think Rand Paul is a hypocrite for suggesting it. In fact I think just the mere mention of doing these tests may scare some who are a part of this ‘secret resistance’ out of the government.
