Mitt Romney suggested today that he’s not real happy about the Senate investigation into Hunter Biden and Burisma:

Romney told reporters, when asked about if he’s worried about the appearance of the investigation, “There’s no question but that the appearance of looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden appears political. I think people are tired of these kind of political investigations and I would hope that if there’s something of significance that needs to be evaluated that it would be done perhaps the FBI or some other agency that’s not as political as perhaps a committee of our body.”
He then added “we also have a lot of work to do on matters that are not related to Burisma. We probably ought to focus on those things.”.
When asked if he would support the subpoena of a former Burisma consultant, Romney simply said he needed to discuss the matter with Chairman Ron Johnson to see what Johnson has and then he would make his decision. If this is anything like impeachment, we all know how that will go.
I would note that the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has 8 Republicans and 6 Democrats. If Romney votes with Democrats then it would result in a 7-7 tie and I’m guessing that would mean the subpoena is defeated.
