Just after the new year the Washington Post wrote that Nancy Pelosi was not expected to run for reelection this year and that Hakeem Jeffries was the most likely to take her place as minority leader.
But that turned out to be wrong. Nancy Pelosi has just announced she’s running for reelection this year:
While we have made progress much more needs to be done to improve people’s lives. This election is crucial: nothing less is at stake than our Democracy.

And you know as well as I do that she’s going to want her top dog position back when she wins again. I’m sure Democrats who were planning on running for minority leader are crushed right now, but they’ll hide their true feelings and claim they are glad she’s coming back.
