AOC admitted on CNN that this impeachment charade is about unifying a divided Democratic caucus and about preventing Trump from being reelected next year.

I can imagine there are some Democrats in the House that are not happy about AOC’s comments here. After all, she literally says “if this Ukrainian allegation is what brings the caucus together, then I think we have to run with however we unify the House…”
She makes this sound like these impeachment hearings are just about unifying Democrats in the House.
But then she adds that impeachment is also about the potential compromise of the 2020 elections, saying this isn’t about “something that HAS occurred”, but rather it’s about “preventing a potentially disastrous outcome from occurring next year”.
She’s obviously talking about Trump winning the election in 2020, because what could be a more disastrous outcome for Democrats? It would mean that all the investigations, all the hearings, all the 24-hour anti-Trump segments on cable news, all the blockbuster scandalous reporting about Trump will be for naught. And they are hoping that while most of that other has failed, these impeachment hearings will seal the deal and prevent Trump from winning.
These impeachment hearings ARE designed to try and compromise the 2020 elections. Talk about election interference…
