Ocasio-Cortez is claiming after a visit today at an El Paso border station that the border patrol are focing women to drink out of the toilet:

Now I’ve seen the inside of these facilities.
It’s not just the kids. It’s everyone. People drinking out of toilets, officers laughing in front of members Congress.
I brought it up to their superiors. They said “officers are under stress & act out sometimes.” No accountability.

This is preposterous and only the true Trump haters would believe this garbage.
In the video and in the tweet AOC makes it sound like she actually witnessed this or heard these border patrol agents telling this to the women. But here’s another congresswoman suggesting they they were told this by one migrant:

Don’t just read the tweet, listen to how she characterizes it in the video:
“One woman said that the border patrol agent told her if she wanted water, just to drink from a toilet.”
They didn’t see border patrol agents telling women to drink out of the toilet. They didn’t witness any women drinking out of the toilet. They spoke to one woman in the entire facility and this is what she told them. Pathetic.
Even if it were true that a border patrol agent told this to a woman, there’s a million reasons why an agent might have made an off-hand comment like this. Perhaps the migrant woman was being overly dramatic or annoying. Maybe water was being delivered but they’d have to wait and the woman didn’t want to wait. Who knows?!
Or it could be that this migrant woman is just angry and wanted to lie in order to make border agents look bad. Again, no idea.
But it doesn’t matter because it’s clear to me after seeing these videos that AOC’s word on this is worth nada. I fully expect the CBP to smack down AOC and her counterparts later today.
