Inspired by yesterday’s horrendous comments of Virginia’s governor, Ben Sasse has just announced to the Senate that he’s introducing a bill that will protect babies that are born alive from being killed in the name of abortion, otherwise known as infanticide.
And what’s more is Sasse says he’s going to try and pass the bill via unanimous consent on Monday evening, daring any pro-abortion Republican or Democrat to object.
Sasse argues that this should not be controversial at all, that there should be zero politics involved in protecting the life of a baby born alive from a botched abortion or otherwise. He says that if anyone disagrees, they have no business in public life where they pretend like they care about the most vulnerable among us.
He also points out that he’s using an expedited process in order to bring this to the floor on Monday evening via unanimous consent.
So who will be the Democrat that blocks this legislation. We’re taking guesses in the comments…
