WATCH: Beto O’Rourke CONFRONTED at town hall about stingy charitable donations

It turns out that Beto O’Rourke really isn’t that much of a charitable guy.

His tax returns reveal that he only gave 0.3% of his income to charity in 2017:

FOX NEWS – The filings show the couple had given $1,166 to charity in 2017 despite having a combined income of $370,412, which calculates to roughly one-third of 1 percent of their income. According to The Washington Post’s James Hohmann, that places O’Rourke last among the 2020 candidates competing in the Democratic primaries.

Last night Beto was confronted about this and notice what he says:

First of all he’s suggesting his work as a public servant since 2005 is charity. But didn’t he get paid for all of that?

Secondly, he’s claiming that he made secret donations to charity that he didn’t itemize on his tax returns. Really? How convenient.

And lastly, he’s suggesting his very run for president is charitable donation of sorts.

Can you imagine if Trump said any of this? He’d be raked over the coals in the media. But don’t expect this to happen to Beto in the world of media double standards.

Typical self-aggrandizing jerk.

Bill Clinton also claimed that he and Hillary made a ton of charitable donations that they didn’t itemize for taxes, because, you know, they didn’t “need” all those deductions.

Yeah, right.

These charity figures mean nothing. So the President earns $5ooM.Now the Liberals see his returns and are now demanding he donate $200M to Charity.Give me a break. No one but the IRS has any reason to see his Tax Returns

Donating to charity would leave the fake hispanic with less money to spend on beer and bribe money to avoid DUI charges.

When I listen to Bobby Frankie, or most of the other Dem candidates I marvel at how stupid they seem to be. It’s not just that I disagree with them, they really seem dumb.

Last Sunday, Ben Shapiro had an hour long interview with Dem candidate Andrew Yang. I disagreed with almost everything he said (“$1000 Freedom Dividend for All!”) but you can see in this conversation that he is an intelligent (if misguided) person. He is not a “go whichever the wind blows” type of person. (You can watch this interview on YouTube.)

Someone like Yang would never get my vote, but at least he would be a worthy opponent. Bobby Frankie et al is an insult to the process.

He’s just being shy, modest and self restrained. He won’t brag about

According to the left if you are a “public servant” that is charity in itself. Doesn’t Trump donate his salary to different areas of the government? I know it’s all over the news every time he does it but I can’t recall the last time it was reported wall-to-wall.

“Can you imagine if Trump said any of this? He’d be raked over the coals in the media. But don’t expect this to happen to Beto in the world of media double standards.” But Trump isn’t going to have occasion to say any of this because we’re never going to see his tax returns. Maybe Trump gives lavishly. Maybe he uses his charity to purchase iconic pictures of himself.

I think maybe we should leave Robert “Beto” O’Rourke alone on this one. Glass houses and all that.

I haven’t heard of one. I’d love to see Mrs. “Beto.” Surprising that we haven’t…unless she’s 30 years his senior and looks like Brunhilda. Usually the spouses are trotted out to lovingly support their husband. It’s almost suspicious….

My household gave over $3000 dollars worth of money, time and materials to charity last year. Funny how the least who can afford it, usually give the most. In contrast, those who CAN afford, give the least or not at all. Robert is no saint, he’s a fool for releasing his taxes.

More proof that the left is only charitable with other people’s money.

Although, I will admit, there’s a lot of charitable work that I do that does not show up on my taxes….partly because I’m terminally lazy and partly because I do not do charitable works for a tax break.

Hypocrisy like this is so rampant among Democrats, and it irritates me to no end that they always get away with it. News like this should instantly sink his campaign, in my opinion. For all of their preaching and lecturing about how we need to raise taxes and do a better job of taking care of the poor, study after study proves that Democrats love to talk the talk without walking the walk. I’m sick and tired of conservatives being labeled as greedy and heartless because we believe it isn’t the role of government to provide charity. Conservatives – even poor ones – are far more charitable than leftists would ever dream of being with their own money. We just prefer that our charity be done voluntarily rather than at the point of a gun. Yet somehow we get labeled as the stingy ones. It’s sickening.

I personally don’t care who Beto does or does not donate to. I gave up on Charity giving a long time ago. I got tired of giving my hard earned money away to organizations that waste it. It really didn’t make me feel any better about myself, and I prefer to use what I earn to better my own standard of living. I personally am tired of the tip bullying and all the other people with their hands out. Go earn yours. There is no virtue in begging.

I make lots of donations that I don’t record because I don’t want to be harassed incessantly by the organization for more money, so while I have my doubts regarding Robert, I’ll give him a pass. The “I’m donating by running for office” is total arrogant BS. This guy is so full of himself and can’t even see how he doesn’t hold himself to the same rules as everyone else.
