It turns out that Beto O’Rourke really isn’t that much of a charitable guy.
His tax returns reveal that he only gave 0.3% of his income to charity in 2017:
FOX NEWS – The filings show the couple had given $1,166 to charity in 2017 despite having a combined income of $370,412, which calculates to roughly one-third of 1 percent of their income. According to The Washington Post’s James Hohmann, that places O’Rourke last among the 2020 candidates competing in the Democratic primaries.
Last night Beto was confronted about this and notice what he says:
O’Rourke on low $$ to charities: “There are charities that we donate to that we’ve recorded & itemized—others that we’ve donated to that we have not…I’m doing everything I can right now, spending this time with you, not with our kiddos…to make sure that we meet this moment..” pic.twitter.com/tAkWHxGu1k

First of all he’s suggesting his work as a public servant since 2005 is charity. But didn’t he get paid for all of that?
Secondly, he’s claiming that he made secret donations to charity that he didn’t itemize on his tax returns. Really? How convenient.
And lastly, he’s suggesting his very run for president is charitable donation of sorts.
Can you imagine if Trump said any of this? He’d be raked over the coals in the media. But don’t expect this to happen to Beto in the world of media double standards.
